Hotel de la Paix wins praise for its 'Serenity Chic'

Travel to Cambodia - Phnom Penh is the capital and renowned for its beauty, especially the area surrounding the Royal Palace with the magnificent Khmer towers and the French villas overlooking the banks of the Tonle Sap river.
Hotel de la Paix has won acclaim from one of the world’s most influential design magazines, Architectural Digest, for the subtle splendor of its architectural, interior and landscape design. It’s an innovative design concept created by internationally acclaimed architect Bill Bensley that is being called "serenity chic".

The 7-page feature in the magazine’s August issue pays tribute to the dramatic flourishes and intimate scale of the 5-star boutique hotel. Hotel de la Paix was one of only three hotels selected from around the globe for the travel section in a special "Exotic" issue of the global magazine.

"We’re elated not just for our hotel and dedicated staff, but for Siem Reap and the Cambodian travel industry in general," said Mr Joseph Polito, the General Manager of Hotel de la Paix. "This is a milestone for the country’s tourism industry. Siam Reap is attaining a unique status at the very pinnacle of the market. It’s becoming one of the world’s most entrancing and stylish destinations."

Architectural Digest praises the design team for their inspiring blend of art deco and Khmer grace, sandstone and steel, lauding the hotel’s temple-like entrance, thoughtful arts lounge, lush courtyard and its hip yet opulent suites.

"Hotel de la Paix is a complement to Angkor Wat, and that’s what our guests experience as soon as they enter," Mr Polito explained, "We’re just minutes away from some of the world’s most majestic temples and we have built our success on being part of that experience."

The Hotel de la Paix experience is drawing a new wave of tourists to the ancient Khmer capital. The property is owned by Bangkok’s trend-setting Bed Management Company (BMC), the people also behind the popular Bed Supper Club in Bangkok, the 107-room Hotel de la Paix and its sister hotel, the 18-room Shinta Mani Hotel.
