Swedish music group immortalised in world’s first ABBA museum
|
|
Travel to Stockholm - Located a hop and a skip from Finnish waters,
Scandinavia's biggest city offers the fascinating sight of a town built on water
and surrounded by forest. |
|
ABBA fans, your life is now complete. As of 2008, you will be able to visit the
world’s first official ABBA museum in Stockholm.
“It’s
great that someone feels like taking on our musical history and making it
accessible,” ABBA members Agnetha Fältskog, Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and
Anni-Frid Reuss said in a joint statement. “We hope and believe that it will be
a fun and groovy museum to visit.”
The museum will be filled with original outfits worn by ABBA, instruments and
images of the group from the 70’s and 80’s. The museum will span over
approximately 3000-4000 square metres with its exact location still not yet
determined. But it has been confirmed that it will be located somewhere in
central Stockholm.
Benny Andersson has invited guests who plan to visit the museum in 2008, to
stay at his boutique hotel Rival which features ABBA CDs and speakers in every
room. Guests can even expect to meet Benny as he regularly visits the hotel.
Bentours offers fans an ABBA package that features two nights at the Rival
Hotel in Stockholm and a 24-hour
Stockholm City Card, which starts at $295 per person, plus tax. The city
card also offers free or discounted entry to all
Stockholm attractions. |
