WE have always dreamed of having a vacation overseas but we just couldn’t
afford it. So we settled for a local spot instead and headed for Colmar
Tropicale in Bukit Tinggi. It was a decision we didn’t regret.
Colmar Tropicale is a romantic re-interpretation of the quaint Colmar
Village in Alsace, France. The cool mountain air and the fairytale
environment offered us a holiday such as we had never experienced before.
The village had many castle-like structures. The main attraction is
Colmar Square with its natural stone facades, unique rooftop and cobblestone
roads. We totally forgot that we were still in Malaysia!
On weekends, it takes on a carnival-like atmosphere with shows and
clowns. There are 17 theme shops, a 18-hole golf course, a heated swimming
pool, children’s playroom, library, children’s entertainment zone and even a
bowling alley.
The children loved the donkey rides and the rabbit park where cuddly
bunnies ran free. We also toured the Japanese Garden, Japanese Tea House and
the Botanical Garden where the aroma of the blooms lingered in the air. We
left Colmar Tropicale with a heavy heart but vowed to return again soon!
