PLUSH ... England boss Sven at
luxury Schlosshotel
ENGLAND’S German HQ has survived two world wars and one
World Cup.
Now the luxurious five-star Schloss-hotel in sleepy
Baden Baden is digging in for another invasion this summer.
The castle in the Black Forest opened in 1914, the year Kaiser
Wilhelm marched his troops into Belgium at the start of the First
World War.
Situated 800 metres above sea level, England’s hilltop hideaway
will offer David Beckham and his team-mates spectacular views over
the Rhine Valley.
Once a summer residence for Europe’s royal families, the
Baroque-style Schlosshotel boasts its own spring water.
Described as “an island of repose at the heart of the
Black Forest”, Baden Baden also boasts Roman baths, an opera
house, theatre and casino.
