Marriott is to open the second Marriott Executive Apartments in Pudong,
Shanghai,
in 2006 under a management agreement with Shanghai Xinzhao Realty
Development Co, Ltd.
When opened, the 223-unit property will be named Union Square Shanghai
Pudong Marriott Executive Apartments. It will be the fourth Marriott
Executive Apartments facility in China and the eighth Marriott International
property in the city.
The Union Square Shanghai Pudong Marriott Executive Apartments will be
situated on a prime site in the heart of the Lujiazui district of Pudong. It
will be part of a mixed-use development which also will include
approximately 34,000 square meters of office space and 12,000 square meters
of retail space. The surrounding neighborhood boasts several office towers,
residential buildings and a number of retail developments. Yaohan Department
Store and the Times Square retail complex are both within walking distance.

For dining and recreation, the Union Square Shanghai Pudong Marriott
Executive Apartments will have a lounge/restaurant, an indoor swimming pool
and a 650 square meter fitness center. Other amenities will include a
resident lounge, multi-purpose game room, a resident service desk, room
service, on-property resident storage and a carpark facility.
Marriott Executive Apartments are designed to meet the needs of business
travelers who plan to stay at a destination for an extended period of time.
The lodging brand offers home-style living combined with the indulgences of
deluxe hotel services. Apartments range in size from studio units to
three-bedroom serviced units.
All Marriott Executive Apartments provide pre-arrival consultation,
welcome amenities such as property orientation and city tour,
round-the-clock staffing, minimum twice-weekly housekeeping service, grocery
delivery and laundry service and complimentary morning coffee service in the
lobby.
Each unit contains a fully-equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, security safe
and storage; high- quality and comfortable furnishings that create a warm
and home-like environment; dedicated work area and desk; double phone and
fax lines with voice mail and private line and TV and VCR.
All Marriott Executive Apartments also participate the Marriott Rewards
frequent guest loyalty program.
Marriott International is represented in Shanghai by the 225-unit
Shanghai Marriott Executive Apartments at Tomorrow Square; the 342-room JW
Marriott Hotel Shanghai, the 313-room Shanghai Marriott Hotel Hongqiao; the
564-room The Portman Ritz-Carlton Shanghai; the 369-room Renaissance Pudong
Shanghai Hotel, the 544-room Renaissance Yangtze Shanghai Hotel, and the
217-room Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Pudong.
In addition to Shanghai, Marriott Executive Apartment properties in China
are located in Hong Kong and Beijing.
Looking ahead, under construction and scheduled for opening in China over
the next two years are the 450-room Shenzhen Marriott Hotel (2005), the
289-room Renaissance Wuhan Hotel (2005), the 247-room Courtyard by Marriott
Nanchang (2006) and the 591-room JW Marriott Hotel Beijing (2007). |
