At least twenty Spanish companies supplying goods to the hotel industry have
already signed up for their spot on the Spanish Institute of Trade (ICEX)
Pavilion at The Hotel Show, taking place 22-24 May at the
Dubai
International Exhibition Centre.
ICEX, says it is returning to the show following last year`s successful
participation and with the added lure of a phenomenal number of hotel
projects currently underway in the region.
"Spain has a number
leading manufacturers of furnishings, lighting and electronic hotel
equipment and the potential in the Middle East Market has exploded over the
past few years", said Margarita Gonzalez of ICEX. "Putting these
manufacturers and suppliers in front of decision makers from some of the
most exciting hotel projects globally is what attending the Hotel Show 2005
is all about for us".
"The feedback we have been receiving from Spanish exhibitors over the
years is that the Gulf region is a very profitable market for them and this
explains why The Hotel Show has become pretty much a fixed date in their
diaries," said Bernard Walsh, Managing Director of dmg world media Dubai
Ltd, which owns the event.
One Spanish exhibitor is leading outdoor furniture manufacturer, Grupo
Kettal which is returning to The Hotel Show after securing several major
contracts by participating at the event last year. "We currently have a 50
per cent market share in the
UAE with clients
such as the Ritz Carlton and Jumeira Beach hotel in Dubai and the Emirates
Palace in Abu Dhabi and The Hotel Show, with its targeted trade audience,
has been instrumental in this success," said Angel Salvador, International
Contract Manager.
"So great is the potential for business in this country that we are
setting up a showroom in Dubai later this year under the umbrella of our
local agent, the Haif Company" he said. The showroom will be a one-stop-shop
for hotel owners, procurement managers, developers and designers. The
Saudi-based Haif Company is one of the biggest suppliers of hotel products
in the Kingdom.
Hotel solutions provider, Onity, is returning to The Hotel Show after
managing to complete 12 deals in the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain from its
participation at the event last year. The event also helped the company give
a boost to its network of distributors in the Gulf region.
Onity will be showcasing its Proximity lock, which works with ISO
standard non proprietary cards making it inexpensive and the best platform
for future multi applications.
"At its Hotel Show launch last year, the new lock attracted a lot of
attention and was requested by at least six hotel projects in the region,"
said Borja Ibarrondo, Sales Manager Southern Europe & Middle East Region.
"The product is maturing very well and we hope for a major share of the
Middle East market."
The opening speed of 210ms makes the Proximity lock the fastest in the
market and eliminates customer frustration by ensuring successful opening on
the first attempt. Ideally suited to the Middle East, the Proximity lock
functions in extreme weather conditions and can withstand 95% humidity
levels without condensation.
Other Spanish exhibitors that are expected to make a great impact at The
Hotel Show are lighting manufacturer Luzifer and leading textiles
manufacturer, Textiles Contract, who have both turned their attentions the
Middle East as an important new market this year.
With a targeted audience of the region`s hotel owners and developers, The
Hotel Show attracts the world`s major hotel supplies manufacturers.
Exhibitors are arriving from as far afield as
Italy, Australia, the Far
East, Russia, South Africa and the United States, as well as from the major
regional players. So far, ten national pavilions, from
China,
France, Portugal,
Germany,
Greece, Malta, Mexico,
Spain, Turkey and the UK, have signed up to take part in the exhibition. |
