The Saigontourist Holding Company (Saigontourist), one of the country's
largest travel corporations, plans to invest 600 million USD in upgrading
its subsidiary hotels to reach international five-star standard.
This was seen as one of the moves of Saigontourist to raise its prestige
among regional and international competitors.
Currently, the company is focusing on arranging eco-tourist, marine, and
MICE tours to attract a larger number of tourists.
Established in August 1, 1975, Saigontourist is among the biggest and
oldest travel companies in Viet
Nam.
The company has to date opened representative offices in the country's 16
provinces and cities and in Japan
and Germany. It has
established ties with more than 200 partners in 36 countries around the
world.
This year, Saigontourist expects to cater to 1.45 million visitors and
contribute to the State budget around 424 billion VND.
