Ha Noi has completed its preparations for the international tourism festival
which will take place from April 29 to May 1, Tran Huu Binh, Deputy Director
of the municipal Tourism Service, has said.
Binh told a Vietnam News Agency correspondent that the Ha Noi
International Tourism Festival is organised every two years and that this
year's festival will be the biggest so far.
He said that the festival will include exhibitions of tourism products,
pottery and ornamental trees, performing arts and culinary displays.

The luxurious Melia Hanoi is located right in the city center of Hanoi, the
diplomatic & financial district and close to the main tourist attractions.

Around Hoan Kiem Lake, there will be 300 pavilions displaying fine art
articles and typical products from localities around the country, along with
over 30 pavilions representing cities, organisations and businesses from
Japan,
India,
Malaysia,
China, Taiwan, Denmark, Argentina and
Switzerland.
During the festival days, art performances by Vietnamese artists will
take place on pedestrianised streets in the Old Quarter and around Hoan Kiem
Lake, and traditional operetta and classic drama will be performed in the
Botanical Gardens, where big hotels and restaurants will also present
typical dishes from the northern, central and southern regions of Viet Nam.
Four art troupes from India, China,
France and Argentina will also join the
festival.
To boost the dissemination of information on tourism, the Ha Noi Tourism
Service has co-operated with the national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines,
and international travel agencies to invite businesses from Viet Nam's key
markets to attend the festival. It has also co-ordinated with the Press
Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to invite foreign reporters to
a ceremony to mark the 30th anniversary of the liberation of the south of
Viet Nam and national reunification.
