Vietnam’s China Beach has been ranked among the ‘World’s Most Luxurious
Beaches’ with Forbes magazine including the 20-mile stretch of golden sands
in its latest list of luxury beach destinations around the world.
China Beach is ranked among such stunningly beautiful beaches as Bondi Beach
in
Sydney, Grace Bay Beach in the Turks and Caicos Islands, South Beach in
Miami, Plage de Pampelonne in St Tropez and Wailea in Hawaii.
The Forbes citation says, “China Beach is enjoying a resurgence in tourist
travel. The Danang People's Committee has launched a concerted effort to rid
the area of panhandlers and today the beach is one of Asia's prettiest - and
most historic.”
Traditional round Vietnamese surf boats, the magazine notes, are “one of the
best ways to ride the waves”.
China Beach also benefits from its location at the hub of four World
Heritage Sites - the ancient port of “Hoi An”, the spiritual centre of the
Champa civilization “My Son”, the imperial city of “Hue” and the “mystical
Phong Nha caves” in Dong Hoi.
These world-class attractions are now promoted as The World Heritage Road, a
tourism initiative launched by The Furama Resort Danang’s General Manager,
Paul Stoll.
Mr. Stoll said, “Back in 1998, China Beach was hailed by the Asian Wall
Street Journal as the ‘future Phuket’ and now that vision is becoming a
reality, with international standard resorts elevating it to a world class
destination. Vietnam is meanwhile one of the safest countries in the world
for tourists.”
The destination is also benefiting from a growing number of international
direct flights to nearby Danang from Singapore, Bangkok, Taipei and Siem
Reap in Cambodia, as well as an increasing number of daily domestic
connections from the two major cities, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as well
as other destinations in Vietnam. |
