I enjoy going out for dinner with my wife and we do that at least three
times a week. It’s a must. Last night, I went to China Garden, Haji Ali, one
of my favourite restaurants in the city. We had a really good meal with Thai
chicken curry and Pattaya prawns. I enjoy most of their fish dishes and all
their curries. The corn curd here is the best in the city; it is fried crisp
but is so soft, it melts in your mouth.
I also enjoy eating at Thai Pavilion and Royal China. They
serve great dim sums for lunch. I love Chinese and
Thai food
and also a good Italian meal. Trattoria at The Taj President, Colaba serves
great Italian fare and if you are a fan I recommend you go there.
Another great place to grab a quick big bite is Bade Miyan behind Regal
Cinema. They throw together some good tandoori items besides an assortments
of kebabs and rolls.
On other days, I stay at home and eat a wholesome, home-cooked
Maharashtrian meal prepared by my wife.
I’m not much of a dessert person, be it Indian sweets or cakes. But when
I’m in
Kolkata, I make it a point to buy mishti dhoi and rasgullas. My family
and I enjoy them thoroughly.
I may be a foodie but I also like to stay in shape. My daily one-hour
bout at the gym takes care of the high-calorie intake.
